Manufacturing of Illegal Drugs and Possession of Drug Manufacturing Materials

Very serious state and federal criminal penalties may be imposed on you if you are charged and convicted of manufacturing, or offering to manufacture, illegal drugs such as ecstasy, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, or LSD. You may be charged with a felony even if you only made a chemical that by itself is not illegal if your purpose was to use that chemical to manufacture an illegal drug. Thus, if you engaged in the synthesis, processing, or preparation of a chemical that is not itself a controlled substance, but you knew that the chemical was going to be used in the manufacture of a controlled substance, you may still be charged with a felony for the manufacture of illegal drugs.
