Illegally Discharging a Firearm
It is a felony for any person to maliciously and willfully discharge a firearm at any occupied home, building, car, plane or camper. If you have caused someone's death by discharging a firearm from a motor vehicle, you may be charged with murder in the first degree and sentenced to death, confinement in prison for life without possibility of parole, or confinement in prison for 25 years to life. If you are the driver of a motor vehicle, and a passenger in your vehicle discharges a firearm with the intent to injure someone, you may be charged with a felony and be imprisoned for up to three years. If you illegally discharge a firearm at any federal courthouse or other federal property, or at a federal agent, you may be subject to very serious criminal charges under federal law, including long periods of incarceration in a federal penitentiary. Discharging a firearm from a car, motorcycle or truck can result in the seizure and forfeiture of your vehicle.
